PHOTOGRAPH OF LITTLE MUM
21/01/2008 by Ted.
From the above photograph, taken a few days ago, one can see the evidence of mum’s steady deterioration. The saying, “The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak” aptly described her as she was but now her spirit is going into decline too. She is constantly physically weary and spends her days dozing in her chair until bedtime, when she catnaps throughout the night too. Her interest in things outside her immediate environment is declining. Her main concerns are now pills, pads and “poos”. She continues to eat food which is mostly fed to her but finds even the act of eating to be a great drain on her resources. Her breathing is more laboured too.
But ….. she is still here and is pleased that you are all enjoying the photographs which paint a picture of her life. I asked her if she had enjoyed her life and she said that she had, the best bit being that it is not over, but is just going to change gear as she moves into another dimension where so many loved ones are already, and above all where her hero and Saviour Jesus is waiting to greet her.
A weary mum sends you her love, me too,
Ted.
Must add this! Mum reckons she doesn’t sleep at all when she is in bed, but just lies with her eyes closed. Tonight I tucked her in as usual and she dropped off to sleep and started snoring as she usually does. After a while she stopped snoring and opened her eyes and said, “I don’t know whether to stay awake now and see if it helps me to sleep later”. I said that she had just had about ten minutes sleep, and that it might just be as well to sleep as sleep comes. However she insisted that she hadn’t yet been to sleep. When I told her that she had been snoring she concluded the conversation by saying, When I am just lying with my eyes closed I must snore without knowing”.
There was no answer to that!!!!!!
