Failed again …….
14/12/2008 by Ted.
Thought I would get myself a table runner for Christmas - but they were running too fast and I couldn’t catch one!

But you can’t beat a real hands-on hug …….
14/12/2008 by Ted.
….. and I have had one or two of those this week when I visited Peter and Barbara and Andrew and Janette.
Then this afternoon I called on Gwen’s Tracy and youngest son Jack.
Jack is four years of age and was busy on his laptop. He readily gave me a demonstration of his skill with a game on the computer but admitted that he can’t yet send e-mails. Wow!
I can’t remember what I used to do at four years of age, but whatever it was it couldn’t compare to that. In appreciation I gave him a kiss on top of his head which (as four year olds do) he immediately brushed off. So I picked it up and tried to place it on Shep (the dog’s) head, but he took exception too and barked at me. So I left it at that and gave Tracy a hug instead and one for her to give to Jack on my behalf as he ran away when I offered to give him one.
Tracy’s eldest son Thomas was out doing a bit of courting, and Harry was out with his mates, so I didn’t see them. However I do come across them in town (that’s Millom!) from time to time and they are both very handsome young men. Their mum must be real proud of them.
It has not been a bad type of day here today. Fine with some sunshine but cold. I notice that some of my Spring bulbs are once again showing above the compost, but I have left them to it this time. After all, they must know what they are doing.
I am hoping to go down to the West Midlands this week to see my new grandson Jonathan and his lovely sister Gabriela - together, of course, with their mum and dad - Kasia and James. I am looking forward to seeing them and, of course again, there will be a bit of real hands-on hugging going on. So, news about that later.
OK, I had better get off now in case Sue wants to upload her photographs. She and Bryan seem to have had better weather than Peter and Barbara during their trip to Tenerife. Peter told me that he needed an extra blanket at night and the temperature never got above 21 degrees all week. No-one could remember it being so cold! Planet warming?????
Right, I’m off. My love to everyone out there,
Ted.

Welcome back Sue
14/12/2008 by Ted.
Braincells, frosty mornings - or maybe just your lack of sleep, Sue!
I dont just “send hugs”. I give hugs by picturing each person in my mind and then, in my mind, giving that person a hug. It was ANTHONY who got the hug. Jonathan got his later during my visit to Bolton.
Thinking about it a bit more, location is irrelevant. I gave you a hug in Fang Foss even though you were in Cuba. But it was still you I hugged.
I find hugging in my mind is a lot more personal than just “sending hugs”. When you hug in your mind your feelings and heart get involved too, and you actually pass on love as well as the hug. (And when you pass on love it reflects back into your own heart and gives you a warm glow too).
Look forward to the photos.
Much love to you and Bryan,
Dad.
